The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, is set to introduce its first-ever YEA EV Delivery Brigade, an initiative aimed at creating more than 10,000 employment opportunities for young Ghanaians.
The programme is expected to establish a structured, regulated and uniformed delivery service across all 16 regions of Ghana, with more than 10,000 electric bikes (EVs) expected to be deployed to trained beneficiaries.
As part of the initiative, EV battery charging and swapping stations will be established at strategic locations across the country to support the smooth operation of the electric delivery fleet.
Beneficiaries will also undergo specialised training in electric vehicle repairs, maintenance and assembly, equipping them with practical skills while creating opportunities beyond the delivery sector.
The initiative is expected to contribute to youth employment, skills development and the promotion of cleaner and more sustainable transportation in Ghana.
With the rollout of the YEA EV Delivery Brigade, thousands of young people are expected to gain access to employment and technical training opportunities as the programme expands nationwide.
